Spring Break

I did some fun things over Spring Break. First I went to go see Hop the movie, and it was cute. Next I went to Line Creek with my friends Caleb, Sarah, and Austin, and we went  swimming! The same day of Line Creek Caleb spent the night! Finally we went to Urban Jungle, and Caleb and Austin both came. This was a great Spring Break.

On the second day my Grandma and I went to breakfest. Next we went to go watch my cousin play softball. My cousin started the game, and she is only a Freshman. Finally after the game we drove home. My Book Report

I am going to do a presentation at a literature fair on 2/18/11, and here is the book report that I did for my project.

The Indian in the Cupboard

The book I read was called The Indian in the Cupboard. Lynne Reid Banks wrote the book, and the copyright date was 1980. England was where the story took place. It does not say when the book took place, but I would think sometime during the mid to late 1900s. This is a great book.

The characters in this book were fascinating. Omri is a nine year old boy who gets a plastic Indian that his friend Patrick gave him for his birthday. Little Bear (Indian) is given to Omri and comes to life because of a magic key. Boone is a plastic cowboy that comes to life later in the book.  At first Boone and Little Bear do not get along but then they become friends. I enjoyed the characters in this book.

The events in this story were exciting.  First Omri had a birthday and got the Indian, the cupboard, and he picked out the magic key.  Then the magic key made Little Bear come to life. Later in the book Omri takes Little Bear and Boone to school. The problem was Omri did not know what to do with Little Bear because he could not live in our world because he was so small. The solution was to keep them a secret and then turn them back into plastic. This is a very fascinating book.

When I was reading the book I felt fascinated. In the beginning I felt excited when Little Bear came to life.  I felt interested when Boone came to life because I did not know if Little Bear and Boone would get along. In the end I felt a little sad when they got turned back into plastic, but I understand why Omri did that. Overall I felt that this book was exciting and interesting.

This book made me more aware of how God created people.  God is like the magic key because he gives us life. I also learned that we have to look at people from their point of view. Omri had to do that with Little Bear because Little Bear was very small. I learned a lot about God in this book.

Winter Break Wrap Up

On December 17th I had a sleepover. First we had a dart gun fight. Then we played football. We also had a bonfire and roasted marshmallows. Next we watched the movie Elf. Finally we went to sleep. I love parties!

December 20th was my birthday this year. On my birthday my dad took the day off. We got to go to the movies. I got an i pod touch for my birthday. I loved my 8th birthday!

On Christmas we all got to stay home. The favorite gift that I got was MLB 2K10. On Christmas I did not have to dream for a white Christmas because we got one! We also got to make a birthday cake for Jesus. It was definitely the season to be jolly!

On December 30th we went to New Orleans. On the ride we went through Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana to get to New Orleans. I got to see my family. My cousin and I went to a play place that his mom and dad own. We had a happy New Year!

Little House Christmas

On Friday we went to go see Little House Christmas at Legacy Theater. The characters were Laura, Ma, Pa, Uncle George, Nellie, Mrs. Nelson, Mary, Peter, Nick, and Mr. Edwards. My favorite part was when Mr. Edwards gave them gifts because the creek was too high for Santa to get to their house. This part was the only part that was like the book. It was different because more family members came for Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas!

December

December is a very important month to me. On Christmas we give gifts because Jesus was the greatest gift of all. We have parties because December 25 was Jesus's birthday. That is important because Jesus is our savior. My birthday is December 20. I like it in December because I don't have to wait long for Christmas. I accepted Christ on December 24. I liked that because I got to do communion that night. I love Christmas!
